About
Dr. Elias Fontaine is Clearwater's Lead Psychiatrist, bringing a deeply integrative approach to psychiatric and behavioural health care. Born in Lyon, France, he completed his medical training at the Université de Paris before specialising in psychiatry at McGill University in Montreal.
Dr. Fontaine has over 14 years of experience treating a wide range of mental health conditions including treatment-resistant depression, bipolar disorder, ADHD, and schizophrenia spectrum disorders. He is particularly known for his expertise in psychopharmacology and his ability to work collaboratively with therapists to deliver truly integrated care.
He is a certified practitioner of cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) and mindfulness-based cognitive therapy (MBCT), and regularly supervises junior psychiatrists and medical students at Clearwater.
